Hello all,

I am sure you have all heard that WLM will close down in favour of Skype.

Does this mean that our Plus chatlogs will somehow stop being accessible?

And, more importantly for me (I have WLM Plus Live 4.85.386),

How can I convert the encrypted PLE files into a file type more common (e.g. PDF, TXT, DOC etc.)?

I would like to transfer the logs between computers (on a hard drive) as I tend to use different ones.

Or will I need to manually go through and copy and paste them into Word? (Which I hope not to have to do!)

These logs are very significant to me, so any help would be massively appreciated.

The discontinuation of the chat logs is for ONLINE logs for Messenger Plus! for Windows Live Messenger only.  You can still access logs saved locally.

Regarding the PLE files, I am checking with developers (some are on vacation) and will get back to you in 2013.

I'd urge you to look here: [Release] Log Manager - Version 1.1.008 (development on this is no longer ongoing) or even here: Encrypting, decrypting etc. of Plus! chatlogs.

Just goes to show you that even though your company owns a product doesn't mean you know the ins and outs of it... Sad really.
