Just 2 suggestions:

The same that you can write a message begining with // to send only one of them and avoid the warning about unknown commands, it'd be great if you could do the same with tags: ie: you write (!!tag) and it sends (!tag). You could say to your contacts something like:

if you write (!!VER) you get (!VER)

the secon suggestion is about truncate contact names. That feature is useful when the contact has a very long name andyou don't want it to mess up your screen so you truncate it. ok, but i've just noticed that one of my contacts has this nick:

and that's really annoying. So I though, I'll truncate his name but, oh!, my preferences say: Maximun character count = 12 and his nick has only 9! that's why plus doesn't truncate it and it still is displayed in 5 lines....

So the suggestion is this: Plus should truncate "Maximun character count" characters or less if there is a line break before those characters. This way the nick will fill into a single line and it'll look like better.

About the first suggestion: I like it very much

About the second: I would like to have an option "If my contact has a nickname of more than a line, just show the first [xxxxx] lines"

Sure why not Tis only fair for the first suggestion....and yes Booghosts multiline nicknames become annoying I like both ideas

i like both ideas though u can already use the /text command for the first one

just use something like that

The second suggestion I would extend to: cut-off all carriage-returns (new lines) and show them as spaces

or even have a customizable textfield to add the character you put for replacing them, but I think that goes too far

Anyway, You can still use Custom Names to do that

if the contact hasn't got plus installed, s/he'll see the character for Ctrl+O, and I don't want it, because maybe I want to say:

If you'd have plus installed, you just type (!!VER) and it is changed by your version numbers and you'll get something like: (!VER)

thought it would be better to just addon to this thread rather than continue another one thats close to this..
truncating names would also be nice if it would remove ...hello... names like that.. although it already passes the limit and can be truncated, i hate when ppl put <--those types of icons in their nicknames.. so if there could be a little something extra on truncating nicknames so that you can remove ppl who have smilies in their nickname
