i like the sound of both ideas v much

the 1st idea would be very handy indeed, i often come accross explaining "use (!VER) for blah" and have to piss about a bit

2nd idea would also be handy as multiline nicks really piss me off

i like both ideas there really cool #(!!VER)  is the best I use it constantly to help people

Also multi lined nicks are the most annoying things ever!

The first suggestion is really very very good!!

Second seems a lil bit coplicated... i would just say: put your custom names on

no, because I like to see my contact's nick and if it is too long then sometimes i decide to shot it... they're different features

If you short that name to 1 character, you will only see the J..

but i won't.... I'm fine if the nick plus the "says:" text fill in one single line so I use to use the default length (it's 12 characters, isn't it?)
