I hope that the appropriate action will be taken against GS, considering I have been a member here since the 28th of January 2003 and do not expect such derogatory comments to be made. I felt that I should clear up a number of things to avoid the sensationalist posts that I have been seeing.
1. The post that is being refered to by the thread-creator is actually a continuation of a previous discussion relating to branding and the vehemenous protectiveness that brand owners give to their product, such as the case we spoke about where Adobe no longer wish people to use 'photoshopped' as an adjective; this was the reason for the post - a sense of irony, not derogatory towards Plus or any member of this forum or channel.
2. The issues regarding people being unable to view msnfanatic are quite common, stemming from some DNS servers not updating themselves properly, and thus being unable to find our server in their query. All of this came about after we were attacked constantly for weeks by the porn industry, who were intent on stopping us providing information on the malicious code they had implemented to spread through MSN profiles to cost people money.

If you have some comment to make, please come and do so on our forums - much as I am just now. This is the internet, and we both have codes of conduct on our forums that prevent people from being personally attacked without repurcussion (hence why I point out the comments made by Giant Spider which were directed at myself) If you do want to post at msnfanatic, please do so - and if you suffer abuse, PM me and I'll deal with it personally. Let's not be petty about this.
4. "Is GreenBoy on the Msg. Plus! forums?" Yes, Yes I am. I have been for a long time, as I said before - but my account password has been lost and is in the process of being reset as we speak.
5. "This is funny, it's a bit like gang warfare. (I'm glad I'm on this side, though. lol.)" this is the attitude that does not help. We are different communities with people in each who may have differing opinions. This is not 'warfare' ;o
6. "GreenBoy has posted 3 stupid stuff about Plus! in the past week" I'd ask you to show me such things? I posted an opinion in a civil fashion on a post you yourself made regarding M$ monopolies (which was off topic) and then the topic spiralled out of control into mudslinging, and has since been removed.
7. The thread has since been deleted due to numerous posts from people who were intent only on expressing hatred for either msnfanatic or plus. Apparently both our site members can't talk to each other without resorting to use of scathing comments; I happen to frequent the plus IRC channel and I get on with many of the people there, despite our differences in opinion over Plus' way of doing things. Let's see that at work on the forums also.
8. In my experience, n00bs will be n00bs - there's no way round that. So constantly correcting them on such a tiny detail as MSG/MSN Plus! is petty and only helps confuse them - it isn't helpful. It's like me saying: "it's not MSN Fanatic - it's msnfanatic"
So, in conclusion, feel free to come and comment on msnfanatic as cookie did - but if your post is hateful or obscene, or indeed if anyone personally attacks you, contact me and I will sort it out.
The post was not an attack on Plus but an observation of the way people treat brands and names; a continuation from a previous discussion we had been having regarding Adobe Photoshop.
I don't expect to be flamed for this, as I wouldn't allow to happen to you if you posted on fanatic, so I expect the same level of civility as I would ensure you received. Anyone who doesn't obey the rules of your forum as stated earlier in the post should be disciplined, as I imagine Giant Spider will be.
