Service packs are critical updates and need to be installed. You'll never need to pay for a service pack. If you had to pay then nobody would update windows and computers would get hacked and there would be chaos.

Service packs are free... well, at least if your copy of Windows is legal

i read somewhere about, with this service pack they were gonna block illegal copys of xp ? any1 know if this true or was it just some junk ?

but then again no one should worry, coz u all should have legal copy's. if not shame on you, go out and buy it

I guess they'll do the same they did with SP1, some pirated keys will be locked.
