Well in a matter of interest I went to google and searched for "msgplus" just to see all the pages about plus... like you do... ... anyway, I like investigating stuff to do with computer operating and found a page in the results which was a process library that gives info on processes and this page was giving info on msgplus.exe

Just check this out...

yeh, of course, trying to sell some program....

what is annoying is that they are trying to fool gullable people or n00bs , into buying crap software that will probably do more harm than good to their systems than what plus would ever do (which msgplus doing any damage is soo unlikely and impossible ).

Well, that site has info about thousands of different processes in its database, and they obviously don't give much attention to any one. Maybe they just accept whatever users send them, or it might even be automated. This false text: "monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analyses" is exactly the same as in other descriptions, meaning they either lazily copy-pasted, or it's a standard pre-written text.

I sent them an email with very detailed information a few weeks ago, but apparently they don't care enough to update the information

I'll see if sending a new email has any effect.

I'm one of the folks responsible for the ComputerCops/CastleCops Startup List,  and I can assure you that that particular msgplus.exe  is indeed an adult content dialer.

You see,  lots of dialers,  spyware,  worms,  trojans and other malware actually use familiar file names in order to pretend to be something they aren't...

We do in fact have the 'real'  MessengerPlus startup listed as well:
