I'd do this, since guests won't see msgplus as a spamming community, they'll think it's clean, and thus not spam the forum to death.

I think it avoids the forums to have a bad reputation. At least, for guests, who are 70% (80 maybe?) of the visitors.

Actually, I agree, this would be a good idea...Also it would make finding help a lot easier for guests since all the is filtered...
But I don't get how it would really make any difference to the server load jren207; the difference would be marginal at best.

Good idea actually, you have my vote.
The T&T section isn't relevant for guests who just want to get some quick help, but otherwise when you're at a school / work computer that records your keys and you don't want to log in and just want to have a quick look at the forums, you can't view the T&T forums...

the guests don't post in the offtopic section anyway. It's just to prevent them from viewing it. Why would that piss wdz off?

You can't just do something like that without thinking it over and discussing the possible consequences...

We've never had a forum here that only guests couldn't access.

But if we didnt mess with the forums, It would never get done.
