If you want this in your copy of Opera, follow these simple instructions...

CLOSE OPERA FIRST

1. Open the "search.ini" file in your Opera Program Files Folder
2. Scroll to the Bottom of the file and Paste this:

3. Restart Opera

Now you will be able to search the Messenger Plus! Forums directly from opera. You can also type "m search term" in the address bar to search.

Nice.. too bad I am using FireFox. BTW did you make that code if so could you make one for firefox with the instructions to put it in it would be much appreciated.

I made it for Opera, cos its really easy to customise Opera.

But why not use the excellent Messenger Plus! Firefox Toolbar by Chris Boulton.

Thanks for telling me about this  I have never heard of it before i'll download it now. Still good code for Opera if I decided to use it I will use your code.

Edit : It only works for 0.7 hope it gets updated.

How could you have missed that O_o

It's just on his blog it says 0.7 at the top confusing if the update is at the bottom .

saralk, I edited the URL in your post just to simplify it. Only 2 parameters are really needed for that search.

There is a way to do this without an extension in firefox to:


make a bookmark with the link below (same as for opera)
http://shoutbox.menthix.net/basicsearch.php?do=search&keywords=%s

Now go to manage bookmarks, rightclick, properties, and then enter any letter in the keyword-box (for example m). Now you can search with the string
"m <search>" (remove the quotes) in the adress bar
