For some reason I deleted my recycle bin by accident how do I restore it?

in xp pro

Unless you have something like a new version of Norton installed with Un-Erase wizard then you're prob. out of luck.

you can get programs just search for unearase or if you have system mechanic or norton they both have one

But if you found one, do NOT install it on the disk where you want to undelete your files from!!!!! If you do, chances are high you'll overwrite them with installing the program....

In fact, if you want to undelete something, stop using that drive all together. If it is from your main drive (the one from Windows) then do as little as possible (eg: do not download and store the setup on the C: drive)...

From what I read from serpico's post, he wants to get the icon back on his desktop, not rescue files. Not sure though... I'll delete this if i'm wrong

Oh, indeed.... well if that is the case, just restart your PC, in most cases it will be fixed automatically...

What if I restart my pc it will come back?

Normally yes.
But is it that what you did, deleting the recycle bin?

Or do you want to recover deleted files inside the recycle bin? Because if it is the last then ignore the last posts of Ddunk and me and read the others... (restarting your PC wont do anything good in this case, it will even make it worse)

im not sure but maybe system restore point will help?
