O.P. Tiny bug
Hey all,

Since this is my first post to the Messenger Plus! Forums, I'm not sure if this already has been mentioned before. I'm wondering why the version numbers of the (!VER) command are still shown wrongly.

quote:
Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Client Version: 7.0.0777
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.51.0128

Windows XP IS in fact 5.1.2600, and both the webpage and the About menu of Messenger Plus! show me 3.51.128. In both cases an additional 0 is added in between... Will this be fixed?

Regards,

ViVa

No they absolutely don't, what makes you think that? Can you show me any proof of that? I don't think you can, because I double checked. This is a bug.

.edit, don't make me go make screenshots to proof I'm right. :^)

Just like when you look the "About" screen in Plus! the version number is 3.51.128 but the version number in MsgPlus.exe is 3.51.0.128.

So, Calvin is right, this isnt exactly a bug

If you go to Start -> Run and you type "cmd" and press run you'll see:

Microsoft Windows XP [versie 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

So, if even Microsoft calls it that way.. ? :)

Sorry if I were rude, that wasn't my intention.

The thing Sypher says, I think my point has been made about that, Windows XP IS in fact NT 5.1. Secondly, the About menu of Messenger Plus! AND the webpage tell me 3.51.128. A. Madsen, that additional 0 is common for an .exe file, I don't know why that is, maybe the same thing what's causing the zeros in (!VER). *-)

I know its common, and thats my point.
The 0 is not present in the visual part of Plus! but its there when you look "inside", its the same thing with Windows

Before we go any further, you agree on the Windows cmd part, the Messenger Plus! About part and the Messenger Plus! webpage part (where patchou himself named its release without the 0)?

I'm just wondering why (!VER) does show the additional zeros, and you could discuss about the 0 in 3.51.0.128, but the first 0 in 5.01.2600 is very wrong.

5.01.2600 IS NOT the true version number of Windows XP!

Yes you are right, zero's are meaningless. So basically Windows XP is version 5.1.26 of NT and not 5.1.2600. |-)

But to make a long story short, Patchou will you fix this matter?
