in my opinion, if you upgrade you can have the pc how you want it. you could even save some money

RE: question...?
You just need a new PC.

I didn't look long enough to find the complete specs, but your Dimension appears to be a PIII of some sort and all the old Dimensions XPS used a proprietary chassis.  That means the only thing you can scrape from it would be the drives -- clearly, the computer as it is should be worth more to somebody.

Yea same here, I've made upgrades in three Dell PCs fine.
SoundPacks   -   Scripts   -   Skins

Joe, try Mesh Computers, I was on their site today, the specs on their comps are pretty good, and they're cheap too!

Go for an AMD CPU ;).

There's a nice one, £499 ;).

RE: question...?
you might need to get a new mobo if I am reading that your gfx card has only 3mb or memory.  that tells my that it is most likely very old and maybe integrated in the mobo.  If your mobo is lets say from 2000 back you can only buy pc133 or pc100  type RAM and the largest they sell for that I think is 256 mb.  These RAM sticks that are pc133 and pc 100 are quite expensive.  If you want to get a new processor then it might be hard since it is an old computer and some new processors now will not fit in the old socket that older processors go in.

RE: question...?
when upgrading my dell. i pretty much had to change everything. the motherboard had a low FSB so i had to buy a new mobo so my CPU would run at full speed. the new mobo didnt fit in the dell case so i had to buy a new one. the power supply couldnt power my graphics card.
they really do suck if you want to upgrade them :|

the graphics card is in a pci slot and not part of the mobo. i used to have onboard video with my old pc mobo but that just pissed me off!
