O.P. RE: Ink
Windows Journal Viewer with the update did not work. Nothing changed. MSN Messenger still crashes with the error pages that is covered in ads.
His link to kaonet in his post that he has in his post and claims is on that ad-covered error page but is not, does not work. And of course, the plugin from msgplus.net does not have ink included. still can't get to mess.be... I don't want to remove handwriting, i want it to work. Would it be so hard to attach the ink or fix his plugin's download to include the ink as it so claims so he would no longer be lying to everyone who downloads it?
EDIT: Stigmata, that is telling me to install the journal viewer, which I already now have. It does not come with ink, and is therefore false information.

RE: Ink
Windows Journal Viewer enables handwriting without the need for the plugin.
Uninstalll the plugin and restart your computer.
Everything should work fine from then on.

well, I deleted the plugin's dll. Now, msn keeps crashing while signing in, but this time it is no longer bringing the error screen that is covered in advertisements.
edit: restarting has no effect. I killed messenger plus and started messenger again it didn't crash, and there is no handwriting in the conversation window.

while trying to uninstall messenger plus, it gave this error:
Messenger Plus! has NOT been uninstalled from your
computer. Please try again later.
and.. i have the Windows Journal Viewer with the update on my home computer, and that computer runs the same windows 2000 and msn messenger 6.2. there is no handwriting in the msn Messenger there either. i am wary about installing the handwriting plugin there considering it is impossible to get on msn now on this laptop unless plus is not running.

Do you have admin rights on that account (not sure wether such exists on 2000 as i never used it myself)? Or is there anything running on your computer preventing registrychanges (example: AdWatch in AdAware SE)?

Handwriting may or may not work on Windows2000, as said in the thread about the plugin here.

Could it be that along with handwriting plugin you installed Infopen? If so, go to add/remove programs and uninstall that aswell.

yup, admin account. 2000 is part of the NT series, after all (2000 is NT 5.0, XP is NT 5.1)
i don't have anything that would prevent the uninstallation.. everything else i have uninstalled has uninstalled smoothly..
no, don't have "Infopen".. never even head of it before now.
