Pinging my gateway WAN address gives <1 ms.

All the latency I get has nothing to do with the equipment that I use, it all happens at the IP carriers.

A $15 NIC from your local computer store probably performs better than this.

Why is this a rip off? Simple, it's a PCI card. The PCI Bus is capable of 133MB/s (1,064 Mb/s), so it's theoretically capable of achieving GBPS transfer. However, this is shared between all PCI devices. Even if this card did come in PCI Express, I'd still call it a gimmick though.

Another over-priced gimmick, that will offer nothing over existing NIC's but a higher price.
