My private e-mail account doesn't work at work, though it works fine at home..
I have my own domain, så the threads about Yahoo-mail and gmail, hasn't helped me...
I am sure my settings are right, since it works fine at home..
Does anyone has an answer to why it doesn't work at work..?
When I test my settings at work I get the responce: "The mail server could not be contacted or refused your information. Please check your settings and try again"..
If you are unable to check your email at work, this is most likely because the perimeter firewall in use there restricts POP3 and/or IMAP protocols. This is not unusual at companies that operate their own mail servers -- there's really no legitimate business reason for you to access any other email accounts.
Your only options in that case would be to ask your network administrator to permit traffic on those ports, or to use a webmail interface of some sort.
You could always go the webmail route. You mentioned having your own domain -- if your host doesn't offer webmail access (which most do), there are several free webmail scripts you can install on your own site.
Let me know if you need any suggestions in that area.
