Hello again,

I had nero installed v7.9.6, I just uninstalled it today as it did not had 'light scribe' option in it and Nero 7 had it...


now comming to the point. when I uninstalled nero v7.9.6 it asked for a restart but when I said restart the computer got stuck on the "shutting Down" text for eternity.... now I restarted my computer with the button on the casing....

now the problem is this when I wanted to install nero v7 it got stuck in the middle gave an error....

no I have these icons in my start menu and desktop (without icons)

ok now when I try to uninstall it, it get stuck in the middle with this screen

Ok I'm a little confused but I think I got it..

Do you remember what the error was..?

Is nero in your Programs and Features List..? If so, try unistalling it.
If that works, restart your computer and try to install it again.

If it gives you an error again, the disc you are installing off might be ruined. Try downloading it from the Nero site.

and to end it all an internal error from the uninstall....

now I want to know is

1) how to uninstall nero it completly
2) why is this happening???

yes it is attached in my previous post...

yes it is in the program and feature list and i am trying to uninstall from there
it isnt working...


I downloaded it from the internet few months back

delete your registry entries created by nero (dont delete something if your not sure, ask here about it if you need help)

if there are files in the progrma files, delete them and then try and install...

worked for me when i had problems upgrading

Nero 7 sucks.
I suggest you to use Ashampoo Burning Studio which is much better than Nero. And if you want a lightscribe "printer" use Droppix Label Maker.
This is the combo I use and it works fine

If you still want to use Nero though, use Nero 6. Version 7 sucks...

No one to help ... i have had it with vista moving back to XP....


I think I will switch back to Vista after SP1 or 1.5 years

its all Vista's fault... it sucks (in some ways)

Try those tools.
My installation was damaged as well, these tools really scrubbed it away so i could reinstall it.

The clean tools really helped
