I know I have one on my flame, there has to be a reason infrared is not being dected, so instead of trying to find software that works play with the connectivity settings until it works

You won't have that much success with the IR on HTC devices (I have one) and controlling things via IR such as TVs etc.

Why? Because for some reason the IR transmitters on HTC devices are really short range. I need to be within 1 or 2 meters to successfully control something.

Compare this to my Dell Axim X51v and I can be > 5 meters away and still have perfect remote control.

Oh right ok, maybe thats why it hasn't been working

And even if it did it would be no use whatsoever.
