There are LOTS OF GUIDES that show you how to do that...You just 've gotta mix some argb's with alphablended pics...Search in the forum!
p.s.:You cannot make a skin on a patched messenger, ok? Or the other ppl may have problems with that

Let me explain better...you need to find where do you want to make your changes first (some places are easier, others are harder)
in the places where there are just pics, you need to make an alphablended pic, wich can be done with Photoshop, Paint.NET, or GIMP (the last two are free), that can be something like Send color to alpha...
In places where there are only definitions and styles, you need to find the element you want, and add background and foreground tags, like background=argb(0,0,0,0)
ARGB means; Alpha, red, green blue, wich the first 0 means completely invisible, and 255 means opaque.

That was an answer I was looking for, thanx ..
So you mean I have to take a look in the window Defs. and styles?

Exactly that!! If you go to Willz skinning guide (it has it's own thread) and download page 4, you'll see what is each Def and Style for + the function of each image

The Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Resource Bible: 250 pages?? !!!
Thanx for the advice, btw
EDIT:: The headers are done (using some image-based trick), but the contacts area, the message area and the typing area not. I've tried to replace the resources (1654,668,20199), but without success..
The Willz' documentation says something about Metadata and items and UMMargins..
Can anybody please explain what these things mean?

I believe that is explained in one of the other parts
Um, well that's irrelevant to making the contact list transparent
Yeah, see How do I make a picture go across the whole contact list?! for the Contact list...the other stuff...I will add as I finish my homework

Yeah, see [tid=80184] for the Contact list...the other stuff...I will add as I finish my homework
Homework? So you're at school too?
(Sorry for the offtopic guys )
Ontopic: these style and definition files are very hard to read (well, to me, at least).. Is there a way to make them easier, or is that up to Patchou?

RE: [Help] Transperancy in CList and ChatWnd..
...they aren't hard to read...you just need to pay attention to what you need...(defs are harder though...)...for example...if you want to change the email container...just look up for the file you want...(Log in window is 947, for example, and it is explained in willz guide too), and search for emailcontainer (by pressing Ctrl+F or something like that...)
Offtopic: Whats the matter with be still studying? Isn't it quite normal study for almost 1/3 of your life?
