I used to have a PS1 and then a PS2 and was happy with it. But after i bought my 360, i could never go back to the PlayStation.

Have you bought PS3? Cause if you haven't, you truly don't know what you are missing. Its graphics are something amazing.

It depends what you are looking for. The Xbox has a strong online community, if you are going to be part of that, get one. However, if you are a more casual player and maybe not tempted by the Wii then consider the Playstation. I am going to be buying a Xbox or Playstation after my exams and so far I worked out getting a Xbox, with a HDMI cable, wireless adapter, Gold membership and various other factors will actually costs more than the PS3 (which I get a couple of free games with). So price is not really an issue when you compare the systems, for what I want when a get a next-gen console, the Xbox 360 will cost me £40 more ($80).
Also the Playstation is arguably more future built and maybe the Xbox 360's hold on the market will suffer .

What absorbtion said is true, if you want a gaming expierence eqaul to the ps3, you need to spend an extra 200, (hd dvd player, wifi adapter, charger) so you get all that stuff, but then your 360 breaks, the failure rate is 33%, and I dont see why you have to pay 70 bucks a year for online. The online is not that much better than the PS3. Yeah, 360 has halo but then what? Metal gear solid 4 is coming out for ps3, which will be a system seller, as well as gtprolouge and gthd. As of right now, sony is doing a good job, and i dont see what the 360 has over the ps3.

Yeah, PS3 online is free and as for a "better online community" that's rubbish
whenever i've gone online with my PS3 (on at least 10 games) i've NEVER been short of a decent quality opponent to play with and provided you have a stable connection (which I do) then you rarely experience any kinds of stalling/freezing/etc to detract from the experience
and yeah, it's all built in, no add-ons needed

yeah, i would go for PS3 just for the graphics, but 360 has very inexpensive games here.

It's funny how PS3 supporters don't actually know anything about the 360 apart from HD-DVD and Halo.

Yeah, Add-On.
Add on now - used to be integrated though. And since I wasn't aware they weren't integrated anymore until just recently, you can see what I meant.
