Had, teething problems , I Was aware of that thread. Believe it or not I've been waiting for one of these babies for months. And It's not as bad as it used to be.

Anyway I'm set for a alienware so I'm not changing. And I swear your a thinkpad advertiser :/

Im not. Its just that thinkpads are one of the most reliable brands (Ignoring the SL series). They are built to last, simple as that.

If you can afford it, get the t9300. though there isnt that much of a performance gain according to this (To me anyway).

Yeah, and they also look like they're from 1930. And I prefer customization, and choose what I want, I believe the thinkpad doesn't do that.

And the t9300, does seem to have slightly better

On the other hand - unless you're actually made of money - when you actually have the laptop you'll soon realise that the sheer prices weren't actually worth it.

I have a £500 laptop from 4 years ago which I still use - the higher spec ones at the time would not be all that much faster these days.

In the hard-disk area, the truly best idea is to go for a small HD - like 120GB or so, that way you can then just pick up a WD Passport 320GB for like £80...

And in CPU intensive stuff you should actually see a large increase in performance with a bigger cache (double the cache is pretty sweet), so if you are going for the best of the best then buy the T9300.

But they where! The acer is future proof for what I need. It has "slot in bays" for extra batterys, cd/blu-ray drives, hard drives etc.

No, I don't even use my WD 500gb hdd at the moment. I use a laptop because I like using it anywhere I want.
