Patch has been doing a great job for a while.
[Will Microsoft ever disable Messenger Plus? If so that would suck.]
The can't really do that IIRC microsoft is quite "fine" with the idea and add-on for there messenger
I can be wrong tbh.

You couldn't be wronger........
But I'm sure even if they tried to disable it, Patch would find a way. They can only block the current way things work, they can't block every possible way.

RE: How did you discover Messenger Plus!?
Accually, in the FAQ Patchou states that Microsoft know about and tollerate Plus'es existance
I first found out about plus shortly before WLM went into public beta, my freind said "Dave you have to get Messenger Plus it's awesome" at the time, I was between computers because my dad's PC (with windows XP) had blown the motherboard and we needed a new PC, so I was using MSN7.0 on windows 98. I was unaware that it worked on 7.0 because he said "for it to work you need voice clips" and AFAIK 7.0 didn't have them, though i could be wrong, i didn't have a mic then
I installed it when my dad got his new PC 2 days later and since then, I have been encouraging everyone i know to get it, though a freind of mine claims it wrecked his laptop.
and now i use plus! and Stuffplug and beta test Messenger Discovery on my dad's old PC which was refurbed

They tolerate it because so many users of WLM wouldn't use it without Plus!. If Plus! started to become unstable or carry virus' then they could change things that would stop it from hooking onto WLM. (Obvoiusly these would never happen, but are examples)
The fact is, there is money in it for them so they allow it.

I have read the above posts but... Lets say Microsoft found away to stop Plus And Patch could do nothing about it.
There would be a Outbreak In People releasing Virus's like Plus Enabler and it would be like block checker and do nothing.
But that's just my opinion. Oh and I'm glad plus isn't made by Microsoft because they would restrict certain scripts that patch allows and stuff like that and most probably not found out that the Nick changer virus thing was a virus, because you know it would take up to 3-4 weeks for Microsoft contact to even read you're email. [Do Microsoft have a forum?]
Also I remember a while back when I first found out about plus, there was alot of Plus is a virus dont get it!
Seen it a few times.

"Tolerate" is completely different from "they're fine with it."
You might want to consider buying a dictionary.

RE: How did you discover Messenger Plus!?
I'm pretty sure a decent number of the 50 million users of Plus! would stop using WLM if they killed off Plus!
I know I would.

RE: How did you discover Messenger Plus!?
I would stay with the last version supporting Plus! if Microsoft would ban it. I would keep both installers and I would have the ultimate Messenger experience for ever!
