I'm really confused because I have downloaded the 2009 version of Windows Live Messenger along with Messenger Plus! but when I type in a conversation box, I cannot see what I'm typing. It does show what I say in the conversation but not in the box where I type! I have tried everything from uninstalling and re-installing and even repaired both programs! Help me please?!

Are you using a skin or another add-on?

What do you mean by skin? I'm not using another add-on.

Skins are downloadable patches for Messenger Plus! Live to change the appearance of Windows Live Messenger.

If you uninstall Messenger Plus! Live does the problem disappear?

Nope - I don't use skins.
I have uninstalled Plus! and it did disappear. When I installed it again, the problem appears again?! I really don't want not being able to use Plus! because I hate not having all conversations in one window and without Plus!, there's a crap choice of font colours.

Did you have any scripts? Also, please provide the exact versions of Windows Live Messenger and Plus! installed.

I have downloaded the newest version of Windows Live Messenger and the same for Plus! I think it's version 4.8.

I have the same problem as BAZZZ.

I have Windows Live Messenger 2009 (latest Version) and Plus 4.8 installed. No Skins, no skripts. If I uninstall the plus, everything is running perfectly.
Please help. Thanks

Several people on the Dutch forum reported the same problem. None of them had any skins or scripts interfering and all the font/color settings were correct. The thing that solved it was uninstalling Live Messenger and Messenger Plus! and re-install it again. (sse my other posts below)

Still not sure what's causing this for a relative large group of people, but at least there's a fix.
