I saw that some people are working on a custom 3.1.3 with iOS4 related features (for iPhone 2G at least), not sure if it'll allow bypassing of checks like that

Yeah, I did see about that......not too keen on Jailbreaking again though, did it once and it was alright for a laugh, but it slowed it down and drained the battery even more

just seen that i can get the iphone 4 32gb for £570, think i'll be off to the shop in the morning

Nobody's forcing you to buy it. It's for people that will use it and for people that need it.

Some people will pay that much because it's worth it and may get them more money back.

I don't really get why people moan that their 3 year old phone isn't having any new software updates, how many other phones are still having updates three years after their initial release?

If someone runs a business and the features of the iPhone will help make there business more efficient I would say it's pretty worth it.

u can get the same features on £100-200 phones, they're a complete rip off! the problem is millions of morons/sheep will pay daft money.

i'd like to have one, however i have a brain so i'll stick with my phone & micro-SD card

I'm not moaning, I got this phone for free. So when it breaks I'm going directly for a droid. The problem is there is no reason NOT to support it. As the people making the custom firmware, it's definitely possible and is definitely in demand. I find buying a new revision of a phone to get features that can be got via jailbreak to be useless.
