CTRL + WIndoes Key to enter System Propieties -> Advanced options -> On Performance section, click on configuration -> Find an option that sys something about the fonts. (im using XP in spanish, so i don't know whats the name in english). It does fix it, or try activating all the options :P.

Nope didn't work :sad:

I find that when i choose the colour in this screenshot

That the background of icons change to that colour that i select

Because that is what it is suppose to do... The background color is for the background for the icons (if you have enabled active desktop or locked web items on the desktop)

But the colour changes even though i dont have an active desktop or locked web items on my desktop :undecided:

I'm having the same problem. My Image was PNG format which was what cause the problem. fixed it now.

and find "use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" check that

the format doesn't matter (at least in terms of PNG, JPG, GIF, etc). The subformat may matter though: It may matter if the image has transparency or animation. If that is the case Active Dekstop is activated automatically.

Use 32-bit colour.

I always use PNG's as background and never had this problem...

Make sure the PNG's don't have a transparancy channel; even if you don't have transparent pixels in the image it doesn't mean the PNG doesn't have a transparent channel.
