RE: A Personal Message for each contact is possible?
No, as of the current protocol version, Your personal messages are global and cannot be directed at a specific person.

RE: MSNCoreFun Preview (DirectUI Element Viewer)
Don't be so sure until you've looked at the code. The DirectUI portions of the code are so messy due to compatibility that it might be hard to understand what's happening for some. If anyone has questions about the code, let me know. If you use th...

RE: A few questions.
Before UIFILE was phased out internally, It was a simple 1 or 2 byte patch that allowed for skins to be reloaded, however this only worked for images loaded from the UIFILE itself. Icons for example could only be changed the first time. (For those w...

RE: Congrats TheSteve
Well, I imagine that they would use a petri dish or something similar for IVF. For those that don't know, IVF stands for InVitro fertilization which means that the egg is fertilized out side of the body and then put back.

RE: Congrats TheSteve
Thanks everyone. You know, it is quite possible that the child isn't mine... but not in the way that you are inferring. (Baby is an IVF baby)

MSNCoreFun Preview (DirectUI Element Viewer)
Hello everyone. I have released an updated version of my DirectUI element viewer program that is compatible the latest Windows Live software. (This program takes a live snapshot of what is currently inside of the window and shows it to you.) The down...

RE: Thousands of Hotmail passwords leaked online
I don't know about now, however I know that in the past, passport user ids were stored in either plain text, or some sort of reversible encrypted format. One of the support tools given to trusted support engineers had the ability to see the passwo...

RE: i won't be upgrading
In the past, Microsoft has not made a habit of phasing out the protocol versions. I don't believe they will now either. Last I heard, MSNP8 and MSNP9 were still usable.

RE: Are cookies considered malware?
The main "malicious" use is tracking which sites you go to so that they can serve you ads that you will be more likely to click on. It's simply a privacy issue.

RE: Finding a window and stopping it from displaying
Try tracing out the parameters right before the call to FindWindowExW. Make sure that they are being passed correctly. (not getting messed up by the "typeof var")

RE: Finding a window and stopping it from displaying
Are you sure the class name is "WMP9MediaBarFlyout1342137C" and not just "WMP9MediaBarFlyout"? If the window exists and you've got the class name correct, it *should* be found. How are you determining the class name? Spy++?

RE: Finding a window and stopping it from displaying
If you write a DLL (then load it from plus), you can use it to install a CBT hook which will allow you to filter windows as they are created. See SetWindowsHookEx and HCBT_CREATE...

RE: Using UIBs in a skin
Yeah, since there is a documented tool to encode and decode the UIBs, it would just be a matter of extracting the UIBs from the plsk and manually decoding them from the command line. Every annoying step helps prevent theft though. :)

RE: how to delete contact in list ???
As Vilkku said, you can't.

RE: how to delete contact in list ???
You can't delete it by yourself. The blocked person has you on their contact list, so you can't delete from your allow list or block list until they remove you from their contact list.

RE: My Own C++ dll
Right. For VC6, you just create a new text file and save it as <projectname>.def The contents of the file can look something like this:
LIBRARY "My Library" EXPORTS ; Explicit Exports go here MyFunction
RE: My Own C++ dll
If you remove the __declspec(dllexport) then use a .def file, the name will remain in a readable format.

RE: WLM 2009 wont stop freeeezing
It appears that your problem is else where then. What you can do is install the "Debugging tools for windows" then follow the instructions in [url=http://blogs.msdn.com/vijaysk/archive/2009/04 /02/getting-better-stack-traces-in-process-monitor -proc...

RE: Anyone else has been having problems with polygamy?
For me it will show an error if I try and sign in to the same email that is signed in to the other instance. If I use a different email, it works fine.

RE: WLM 2009 wont stop freeeezing
Yeah, it really is a severe issue, (for those who need to use UDP networking). I have reported the error to Microsoft, and I'm hoping they will fix it for the next release.
