RE: Installing Linux in free space
Thanks so much for your help. Just to ckeck before I do anything stupid: I extend the DATA partition (there's not much on it atm, so it's probably the best) to fill all space, then convert it to "Logical / Extended" and create the new logical par...

RE: Best Photo Gallery Software
Windows Live Photo Gallery is the best I've tried. Note that it's not the same as Windows Photo Gallery, which is built in to Vista. WLPG is a separate download which has extended features and is compatible with more than just Vista (a bit like Win...

iPlayer Netgear router

RE: Aargh! Windows not loading!
OK, I went the whole way and reinstalled Windows XP from recovery CD. However, all is not quite well. Nothing seems to want to be installed, and the computer won't even recognize my graphics card type or allow me to install drivers. Any ideas?

RE: Aargh! Windows not loading!
I'm sure that's all. I've videoed the whole thing. I can't attach it here, but that was all it said. I think a reinstall is the way it's looking... thanks for your help.

RE: Aargh! Windows not loading!
OK, status update (sorry for double post) I have managed to film the loading sequence. No error code is given, just a fairly generic message: I have no XP instal disk, just a manufacturer reset disk. I downloaded a recovery console. CHKDSK /R simply...

RE: Aargh! Windows not loading!
I'm not sure, it appeared too quickly to read. I tried photographing it to read it, but it was too quick for me! I'll give it another go. It was a short message, certainly.

Aargh! Windows not loading!
Hi I'm having serious problems with my computer. When I turn the computer on as normal, the Windows flag appears, but after the little blue loading bars have moved across the screen twice, the screen flashes for a fraction of a second onto what appe...

OS recognition
I am having a problem, whereby my operating system is not recognized by websites through Internet Explorer, and I am therefore unable to use Microsoft Update. Through Firefox, the OS is identified as Windows NT, which I would assume is correct, becau...

RE: DVD-RW drive no longer writable
Well, I managed to find a Sony driver on the internet (Sony itself don't seem to know they ever made the drive) and installed that. This solved the problem partially. I can use Ashampoo and other programs now, just not Windows itself to burn discs. ...

RE: DVD-RW drive no longer writable
Thanks. I have just Googled and found that Sony drives are actualy rebadged Lite-On ones, so perhaps there is a connection. I'll try this.

RE: Anyone want to work on a Messlabs plus script with me?
Perhaps not exactly what you want, but there is already a script (Status2FTP) which can upload such data to any FTP server. Perhaps MessLabs could decode that server-side? Failing that, I would be happy to help! Robert

RE: [Release] Stikkit Live!
I think I understand your point. Is it that whatever you enter in the entry box only appears in the title of the stikkit, not the body? Stikkit itself works that whatever the first line of the stikkit is becomes the title. Therefore, if you enter a s...

RE: [Release] Stikkit Live!

Thanks everybody for the pointers. Actually, I've just discovered and solved the problem. It was my own stupidity which caused the problem: apikey is actually api_key. If only JScript had stikkit's levels of free text compatability... :P
