RE: HELP!!!! (msn wont connect) are you using a firewall? if yes, check your port forwards if you use any and make sure they are correct, or just disable it and check to see if you can just rule it out. what is the error number, what does the error text say exactly?
RE: installing multiple OS yes...even on linux providing the OS you are using will do NTFS writing (assuming you are using NTFS, not FAT32) from memory, ubuntu doesn't do ntfs writing...correct me if i'm wrong.. edit: or yes, you could use fat32..
