no, it means it has to be on, cos if you uncheck the box, and then enable 'only people on my allow list can send me messages', then the box about being informed when others add you gets a tick in it. That's what I thought should happen, but whatever state the window is in when I close it, when i open it again using the button in WLM, it always opens as a smaller window.
