RE: Suggestion: [abbr] Code for abbreviations
That's true.. but writing out full "I want to learn the eXtensible HyperText Markup Language" is stupid.. and by using the abbreviation, you immediately explain to people who don't know what XHTML is what it means. You could ofcourse also say: I...

Suggestion: [abbr] Code for abbreviations
Can we have a [abbr] tag? Like
[abbr=abbreviation]abbr[/abbr]
would become
<abbr title="abbreviation">abbr</abbr>
Because this would be really nice. Example: http://www.w3.org/wiki/HTML/Elements/abbr[/ur l] (hold y...

RE: Forum does not validate W3C
Yes, it tells the browser to view the page as W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Can't the templates be modified? Or would it break everything (I suppose it would.. ) edit: CSS is not a problem. Disabled users can't use Mozilla and Opera. And ...

RE: should cannabis legalised?
If tabacco and alcohol is legal, cannabis should be legal too. It's really scary that they put people in prison for smoking cannabis.. This is a nice website about cannabis: http://www.perkel.com/politics/issues/pot.htm Note: I don't smo...

Forum does not validate W3C
The forum doesn't validate, according to http://validator.w3.org. Why isn't the forum valid XHTML? It is saying it is.. (see quote below from source). Also, when I turn cookies off, I can't login (well, I can, but I can't sta...

I just like WinAmp and XMMS better. What do you need these plug-ins for?

RE: UFO sightings in Asia before Tsunami!
everything is relative... The alignment of planets is only like we see it.. it doesn't have any sort of meaning, only in fairy-tales and fiction-based religions

RE: MS say firefox is not a threat to IE (old news)
IE isn't up to date. It's 3 years old. No tabbed-browsing, built-in search, etc.

RE: MS say firefox is not a threat to IE (old news)
Yeah, MS should do something about IE's rendering engine. It'd be really nice if it'd support <object> according to the W3C standards. That would mean that you could have text with markup as alt-text, and have multiple [s]images[/s]media (...

Yes, but you have to buy new hardware for Longhorn too, with it's annoying(tm) graphical(US patent 1209581952859180) thingies (c)

RE: Windows Codename Longhorn - Really revolutionary?
Okay, okay, you win :P Never mind Of course that matters, and ofcourse you should also look at other things, but still, you could say that you think OS1 is better than OS2, because: all your hardware worked out-of-the-box with OS2, but not with OS1,...

RE: Windows Codename Longhorn - Really revolutionary?
So basically, you can't compare them? I think that's bullshit. The architecture doesn't matter when we're talking about "user friendly". All that matters (for most people) is just what gets the job done, and the quality of getting the job done ...

RE: Windows Codename Longhorn - Really revolutionary?
Back ontopic: No, I don't think Longhorn will be spectacular. Maybe it's spectacular in being slow on your brand-new AMD/Intel [cool year 2006 name] processor with extra included [cool year 2006 marketing name], and sure, it looks very nice, but t...

RE: the Sims 2
Maybe the CD is dirty? If it is, try to clean it up. If that doesn't work, I'd go back to the store, and ask for a new one. You might want to check EA/The Sims' website first, because there might be a patch available for it if it's a bug.

RE: Internet Explorer takes forever to load websites
Cookie, 10% of a hell lot is still a hell lot! :P I must agree though that with a little tweaking IE can be made to be a much more decent browser. But still, Opera and Firefox are clearly superior.
