RE: Shouldn't the forums be cleaned???
Why? WTF? Why? I don't understand.. old topics can be interesting/handy! Does the amount of posts really slow the forum? And who cares about the little disk space it takes?

RE: Dell,Gateway, Or Mac?
Then don't even consider Dell. The best is that you let the local computerstore build it. You said you had $950, right? A system like this might be nice then (I got it from the Tweaker s.net Best buy Guide ...

RE: Windows Xp Home or Pro
hey, RebelSean, do you care about the price? If you want to choose between WinXPPro and WinXPHome, Pro is better, Home is cheaper. You said you want to 'get' it. Does that mean that you will pay for it? If you do, then buy Home.

RE: Windows Xp Home or Pro
Haven't read everything, only half of it, but I have run XP Pro with a PIII 600 and 128 MB RAM. All graphical shit off. It worked fine. But I suggest you use more than 192 MB RAM. edit: It ran fine, but it was slow. With 'fine' I mean that it did...

RE: Dell,Gateway, Or Mac?
Is that so? I'm going to build my own comp this week (parts will probably be here Wednesday). Is there some "wow-I-built-it-myself"-feeling? Or do you mean that when you build it yourself it's "a best computer", because you can choose the part...

RE: Dell,Gateway, Or Mac?
Well, for $950 you can buy a nice comp. Sure, no comp with 2048 MB RAM, but he won't need that anyway :P You don't have to build it yourself, just let someone else build it for you. Just ask at the local compstore.

RE: Software you couldn't live without
uhh.. well, since there's enough alternative shit, I can live without most programs. I mean, there are thousands of mail-programs. So who cares? But I like Opera's special features. aMSN would also be on my list, I think.. Let me take someone else...

RE: Eudora
OE is very much used, Eudora is not. So the risk is extremely low. It is handy to hide that window though, so you can delete spam messages without reading them. If there's an image loaded in the spam-e-mail, they might now that your e-mail a...

RE: Dell,Gateway, Or Mac?
yeah, it's Mac. Where are the options "other" and "do-it-your-self"? Don't like Dell, Mac is good, but not for games, gateway and voodoo: never heard of! You get a lot of BSODs? Is your comp overclocked? Maybe it gets too hot.. or it's just wi...
