RE: The file that wouldn't go away...
The file is 4.32MB It's an MP3 ripped off an album called "Ride with the Underground" and it's track 11. I've enclosed an attachment of what options are available if you right click the file. Note that "Rename" and "Delete" are missing. Plus...

RE: The file that wouldn't go away...
the mp3 plays in nothing at all and i checked the extension and it was just normal ".mp3" and not ".mp3.exe" - if it was an exe or a file usable in anything then i would've had the option to rename it, delete it, hide it, move it etc.

RE: The file that wouldn't go away...
i don't think it's spyware Sikstyles - as they normally apply to exe's and shortcuts. I downloaded this mp3 file myself, mp3s can't contain executable code for spyware and such. Toddy - how would i go about deleting the file via the registry?

RE: The file that wouldn't go away...
I don't think it's anything holding it open because it can't be opened by anything at all. It's like a "shell" of a file.

RE: Broadband Playing Up
My router is a Netgear DG834G 802.11g wireless router. I tried restarting it with current settings - guess my only option left is to take it back to factory settings. If that still doesn't help, then i'll phone AOL tomorrow and explain that i need ...

RE: Broadband Playing Up
i tried resetting the router but i'm still having problems. i have realised though that my download speed constantly goes up and down - e.g one minute it's 110kb/s next it's 20kb/s i'm thinking it could be a problem with my phone line.

RE: Broadband Playing Up
I'm using a Router but the main PC is the one experiencing the problems. Spyware/Adware scans previously shown an unknown registry value that Ad-aware claimed was suspicious, and the odd few cookies. I'm behind a firewall however the settings the f...

RE: *useless* contact card
I find that when I log into MSN, if the tabs on the left don't appear, 99% more than likely, the contact card won't work. If, when I log in, i see all the tabs on the left (shows that i've completely logged in with my net passport and such), then ...

RE: Slow transfers on msn
Find out the ports that File Transfer uses and open them in the firewall. If you have SP2, you can do this under the "Exceptions" tab. I believe the ports File Transfer uses are Ports 6891-6900, but im not 100% sure.
