RE: Is MSN down?
MS almost never communicates about server failures and the server status page is often wrong.

RE: Contention ratios and traffic shaping
/me is glad to be living in the Netherlands when it comes down to internet access. There are just a few ISPs here that have datalimits and even fewer that will do traffic shaping. Probably 80% of all offers is datalimit-less and unshaped. I'd rathe...

RE: Is MSN down?
Yes, MSN servers are pretty unstable at the moment.

RE: screen has lines breaking up content
It could it be it only has such problems on a cold boot. So when you had your pc turned off for a few hours... you turn it on... problem starts and after a few minutes when the system starts to heat up the problem goes away and doesn't re-appear unt...

RE: screen has lines breaking up content
Got another monitor you can test on? See if it has the same problem. Because it might be just the monitor failing instead of the videocard/system.

Nothing we didn't already know.

RE: /xfakeinvite suggestion
For now this "MP!L Scripting" section does exactly that and I'm sure there will be a Scripting section for the public when MP!L gets released.

RE: First official script release!
That's all it does AFAIK.

RE: Installer: Loading msgpluslive.net and WLM
I think you should seek the cause of your problems on your own system. A simple task like launching an URL in default browser shouldn't cause too much lag and it certainly shouldn't crash your browser. Plus! 3.xx always did the same and nobody ever...

RE: Sounds not playing?
I just did a reboot and that fixed - MP!L sounds - Windows default sounds - Google Video - YouTube - Probably loads of other flash based videoplayers and other stuff Looks like something during the 5 weeks+ uptime went wrong with the sounddrivers ind...

Sounds not playing?
Sounds are fixed since .222. But sounds still do not play here. - I have no weird square character in sound messages anymore (like we used to have in older builds), so that's not the problem. - Both on sending and receiving I have no sound - The wei...

RE: @Patchou: Skin packs?
Messenger skinning in an easy format would be a killer feature for Plus! :D Certainly if it's easy to create and doesn't modify WLM binaries. Could grow to a very populair feature.

RE: Scripts / Open source disadvantages
Right now you're describing almost the same as TB. The only difference right now: TB's idea: Have the user manually set "allow unsigned scripts". As long as the user doesn't do this unsigned scripts will not be allowed. Cookie's idea: When the...

RE: Scripts / Open source disadvantages
TB is right: When his idea would be used any modifyed scripts will NOT work outside dev mode. So even when sombody distibutes it on large scale... users will still need to enable dev mode before they can used such modified scripts. Changing to dev mo...

RE: No Plus! :S
Strange... You could make a backup of MP!L/WLM folders and MP!L registry settings (Patchou probably wants to take a look at it). After that, uninstall MP!L, make sure msimg32.dll is gone too... and reinstall 221.
Menthix04-09-2006 at 05:53 PM
RE: No Plus! :S
MP!L doesn't have any .exe file in the first place :). C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msimg32.dll is added by MP!L and WLM loads this DLL without any help from MP!L. you could check is that DLL is there.

RE: Scripts / Open source disadvantages
Nice idea indeed, didn't think of that. It would require every script that wants to be distributed to be checked... but in return you get way less server load (when compared to my idea) and very reliable scripts. When I look at how many plugins ther...

RE: Scripts / Open source disadvantages
That may be possible. In that case all the script packages should check with a Plus! server prior install. So you need something good so people won't have to wait days before their package gets validated. Maybe just validate all the new packages has...

RE: Contacts on desktop - toggle on/off | select multiple at once
Good Point. Event Logging, Chat Logging and Personalized Status have the "Filter" button too, so why not Desktop Contacts?

RE: Scripts / Open source disadvantages
TB/Juzzi: You're both ignoring Segosa's point. If you are so worried abou people stealing code you can still put it in a DLL. Isn't that a solution for you? If not, please share ideas on how to make a good solution that's do-able. There will be ...

RE: Preferences design
I'm very happy with the current preferences panel. Only one thing I'd like to see improved: The border around the preferences window (and most off all other Plus! windows) is quite thick. I think it would look better is that border is like 50% thi...

RE: Paypal probems -what do I do!?
Even that is not fool-proof. Statusbar text can easily be changed in various browsers with some scripting. The location bar at the top of your browser is safer for that matter. The downside is that you have to click the link first, but once you click...
