You can just install Windows XP right now, and then, in config panel change the boot options so that it doesn't display the screen unless you press F8 at boot to bring it up.

Good luck with it, but I fear for you. And if you updated to SP2 recently, I hope for you that System Restore won't mix SP1 regsettings & files with SP2 ones, because if it does, you're fooked.

Sean, turn off all your firewalls etc, then say the same thing again. I'm saying you can't trust Windows. You can when you secure it with third party software. But then, you're trusting the software, not the OS.

It is undenyably a very good OS, one of the top OSes out there, but it doesn't mean it can be trusted, solely. Without a firewall and a virusscanner, Windows OSes are deer in a lion cage.

He's talking about the allowlist, and, unless if you use special programs, you cannot remove people from the allow list, and when you add somebody, that means the other person will either have you on his allow list, or his blocklist...

Sounds like a very common error. Appearantly you have Internet Explorer. There's where it all goes wrong. =) (Anyway, just a simple JavaScript error, that's normal, JavaScript was built to make random errors like these.)

Tried removing or disabling all plugins? Tried without having Messenger Plus! running? Tried without any other program affecting MSN Messenger in any way running, like proxies etc? Tried cleaning out the running processes down to an absolute minimum...
