RE: Being allowed to rate on reputation
I don't dig the rep system anyway. If anything, simply a "Was this post helpful or not?" type thing for everyone to access. But on a forum such as this, it wouldn't work - it's more a community rather than something like MSDN forums.

RE: EXAMS!?!
Damn that's a long list. This term I only have Maths [Matrices, Vectors and Basic Stats / Probability]; OOPSE [Java and OOP]; Introduction to Computer Systems [Ins and outs of hardware, memory, cache, etc] and Russian. Don't ask about the Russian,...

RE: Drive Image Solutions
You are wrong. :P Still, True Image is the way to go. Just don't make things up to make it look better.

RE: Drive Image Solutions
Would you stop with the unexplained claims. :\ Ghost is actually a fairly decent piece of kit, I know a lot of system admins that use it for their basic images that they mirror across all their computers.

RE: Drive Image Solutions
You have to make a "Rescue CD". This is probably in the start menu with TI, unless you chose not to install it with TI, in which case you'll need to go back and install it. Then you simply load the Rescue CD at PC boot, which will basically give y...

RE: [urgent] Sony erricson text message
And in all truth, Mike's link to MyPhoneExplorer is probably a better option - SE's PC Suite is pretty buggy in my experience.

RE: Drive Image Solutions
Seconded. PC-Angel looks slightly complicated - it seems you have to create a hidden backup partition first, which would entail resizing your current partition. All you have to do with True Image is select where you want to save the file - it can ev...

RE: Anyone else with orange UK?
Yeah that happens to me, and the worst of it is that it only ever happens with this one girl... Also, have you guys seen Orange Messenger? As far as I can tell you basically get your contact list on your phone and can talk to them. It also says it'...

RE: Please help with cleaning out my processes
svchost is the Windows Service Host - it's used to "host" any running services you may be using. I wouldn't recommend ending it directly, use services.msc to disable unneeded services. (You can also use Sysinternals [now owned by Microsoft] Proce...

RE: X11 fowarding with windows
I haven't done this exactly, but I find that if you install xvncviewer you can simply run VNC Viewer on Windows. If you want to actually launch programs on Windows and put them onto that X Server, you could install them with Cygwin and use DISPLAY=...

RE: Graphics card
Yes and no. The old 8800GTS [the 384/768mb models] are based on the old G8x cores and are indeed no good, but the new ones [512mb/1gb ram] are based on the G92 core [same core as the 8800GT] but the memory and GPU cores are clocked at a higher rate,...

RE: Cant decide what phone upgrade to get
I would wait at the moment. Most of the top end phones are about to be replaced (at least I know this for Nokia and SE). The N96 is going to replace the N95 and will have DVB-T [Freeview] TV, whereas SE have finally learned to spell and are replacing...

RE: [split] Microsoft rant
I seriously don't know where you're getting your figures from. With Firefox, Windows Live and uTorrent open, my Vista laptop sat at 40%. Which is pretty much 400mb. And all that was disabled was DWM. [Superfetch etc, was still running]

RE: [split] Microsoft rant
Yes, but unfortunately DOS 1.1 didn't use 32-bit memory addresses so it couldn't address that 2 gig that Aardvark uses. :) [Also even DOS 2.0 had a partition limit of 10MB for FAT12...] [hr] I still use XP. :D

RE: msnmsgr.exe - Entry Point Not Found
Download dependency walker - should be the first hit on Google. Next, open up msnmsgr.exe and see if it is looking for that reference. If it's not, then it's either a script or plus (as Cookie said) looking for something which doesn't exist. If it...
