RE: Oh... bugger....
It's been boosted to 1200 now I believe. But, if I understand the question properly then I agree that it'll likely have to be done manually.

RE: Vista Guest account!
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell If it doesn't exist, I would likely reckon that creating it will still work.

RE: Messenger Plus 3 on Windows Me
It was called Windows 95 cause originally the Virtual Machine had Windows 95, but it wasn't stable so I formatted it and put on Me.

RE: Messenger Plus 3 on Windows Me
I'm starting to wonder if this problem is simply related to VMWare (I don't see how though) as it does not run under Windows 98SE either. Although perhaps it has been compiled using NT libraries?

RE: Will the internet Die in 30 years?
I don't think so. In all honesty, this UNIX time-stamp problem only occurs in implementations which use signed integers rather than unsigned. For those who don't get it: UNIX time is basically just the number of seconds that have elapsed since 00:...

RE: Will the internet Die in 30 years?
In all honesty, who would really be expecting to use a 32-bit PC in 2038?

Messenger Plus 3 on Windows Me
According to the download site for Messenger Plus! 3 it's supposed to be compatible with Windows Me... however, when I try to install it, it tells me that it "Requires a new version of Windows to run" and also presents a "A device attached to the...

RE: Some general improvements
For the first suggestion, I wouldn't see much point in this - if you're storing at least 100 characters, why not just store them all by unchecking the box?

RE: the best city to live
I don't know where I'd like to live. I actually hear Dublin is quite nice. Edinburgh and Glasgow are pretty nasty places at night, I don't think I'd like to live in the centre of these cities. I've not really been far afield so I couldn't say...

Winsock & I/O Completion Ports
I've got some (read: a lot) of code that I'm kind of in a muddle over. Basically, it's a server program which is designed to handle lots of concurrent connections which uses Winsock2 and I/O Completion Ports. The main body of the WorkerThread gets...

Dedicated Servers
I'm looking for a dedicated server [for those of you who don't know, this isn't the same as a Web Server] to run a server application for a game me and a few friends from Uni are developing. We're not wanting to pay through the nose for it at the...

RE: How to get more & faster help on this board!
Modifying HTTP headers = bad. However... you could use some form of plug-in, ActiveX for IE and XPI for Firefox that is optionally installed with Messenger Plus! Live (something along the lines of "Version Reporting Tool: If you think...

RE: User's local time
This is why I thought it'd be easier to implement server-side: Several details of the user are already presented in this area, it's (assuming that local time is stored in the same table) a simple case of adding that field to the query. :) I'm not...

RE: Vista BSODing
Daemon tools uses sptd.sys and it's own emulation layer. If it's DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL this usually does indicate Hardware or Driver problems. My first guess when I see this is "Time to buy some new RAM... better find memtest disk", so yo...

User's local time
I just had a brain wave reading shawnz post. I was like "What's he doing drunk at 9.30pm?" and then I realised that it probably wasn't 9.30pm where he was. (Actually it was 1.30pm, and then I realised he might've just been spamming...) Anyway, t...

RE: HTML Poll?
Some sort of server-side processing - PHP for example, and a way of storing the results server-side: either a database or flat files.

RE: hard drive problem
Try changing the hard drive if possible, but my guess would be yes it's a hard drive failure. A more simple check being to find a bootable CD and see if you can boot to that and read the hard drive. If it was only Disk Read Error then it may have b...

RE: IE8 Beta 1 is out!
I put it on my laptop as soon as it came out. Windows Update doesn't work if you don't emulate IE. DreamSpark's download manager doesn't work, it just closes the window. Memory usage isn't too bad, not as low as Fx3B4 though. -- To install Vista...

I watched Lock, Stock.. again yesterday. That film is actual amazing. Also, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are damned good too.
