RE: Virtual HDD Questions
This would work. Although according to Microsoft's licencing terms, it's illegal, just so you know. :)

RE: Best encryption algorithm?
DES isn't actually broken, however the keylength of 56 bits was deliberately crippled by the US NSA, presumably because they have a backdoor to decrypt it with short keylengths. 3DES is supposedly pretty secure by using a triple pass in chain-block ...

RE: Overclocking my CPU
Yeah, the Compaq BIOS is going to be a bit hard to overclock. They lock you out deliberately to prevent overclocking. :) PAE isn't enabled on XP32. Only the high end versions of Windows Server 2003 support it. The most XP will detect is 4GB - Video...

RE: Overclocking my CPU
This is correct, if you don't know what you're doing. In general you should be perfectly safe for 5-10%, I'm actually running my 1.8 GHz E2160 at 3.0GHz, so that's a 67% increase. You can use tools such as OCCT to test that your overclock is sta...

RE: Driving Test [Now Passed :D]
It was 35 when I sat it in June 07, it changed up to 50 in August that year. The crap thing about driving tests is as soon as you pass, you'll have a million times more confidence than you did, even on your lessons. Makes driving so much easier as...

There's no code specific to WLM 9 in the script, as far as I can see. It should work just fine...

RE: [Beta-Release] Auto Block
I'm not sure what the state of this script is. I'm sure I coded it for 4.23, dunno what rofl done it in. I had a development version I was working on for a while, but it's most certainly been lost to OS reinstall, PC upgrade, etc. Although truth...

RE: 32-bit or 64-bit?
The main advantage of x64 at the moment is the integer register size of 8 bytes rather than 4. This makes certain mathematical programs faster - useful if you're doing project Euler >.> [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD64#Architectu ral_features]...

RE: Get File Properties
You're passing in a null pointer (the 0) to the API call. What you need to do is create a databloc which you can put SHFILEINFO into. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I scripted, so you'll need to read the documentation on this.

RE: Convert DVD to mpeg
DVD is MPEG... You can generally drag the VOB files to your favourite media player if they're not encrypted.

RE: When downloading MP!L 4.80, it downloads it as setup.exe
Firefox can be set to automatically save files into a folder. If every file is called setup.exe you end up with setup.exe, setup(1).exe, setup(2).exe, etc.

Hmm. 800 mile round-trip car trek... could be fun. Although my poor little car might fall apart before I got there. >.<

RE: bought ipod classic, and have alot of questions !
For your tagging problems, I find that it's actually better to rip my stuff using EAC and tag them with that. I also prefer it to iTunes for ripping, because it can use any external encoder you like - LAME is widely recommended, using the -v0 settin...

RE: Visual Basic 2008 - Reloading/Refreshing Same form
This shouldn't work in VB 2008, because forms are now stored as classes rather than objects, so form1 is the class. What you would be better off doing, is making a module, and using Sub Main and having a global in the module called form1Instance, ...

RE: Windows Live Suite Wave applications available Thursday
Of course you can, but it defeats the purpose of the build numbers.

RE: Windows Live Suite Wave applications available Thursday
Build numbers go up when you re-build a product, ie compile it. You can rarely fix a bug in a program without recompiling it, so this seems unlikely to me.

Thanks Felu. Unfortunately, doesn't look like I can get MSN 3.6 through 4.6 to work any more. Guess I'll just have to bump up to Win98 then. :)

Anyone have a version of MP!L that'll still work for Windows 95 - as far as I can see MP!L 3.0 onwards all require Windows 98. I'm just playing, no real reason. :) Ta
