4 players local. A much larger number online, depending on the game.

RE: PS3 or XBOX 360 ?
That's what makes a Final Fantasy game though these days. 7 was one of the best, it came on 3 discs. :)

RE: Making vista more secrure?
I'm no Vista expert, but isnt that the entire point of Bit-Locker? TrueCrypt is apparently pretty good at encrypting boot volumes, we use it at work to encrypt USB drives.

[Help] Always on top window
Hi clever scripters, Got a little problem. I have a window which I want to dock to either the top or bottom of the screen, like the start menu. I can make the window stay on top of other windows with var result = Interop.Call("User32....

RE: HP Photosmart C3180
Tried unplugging the printer, uninstalling the drivers, then following the reinstallation instructions? It sounds like a corrupt file to me. Also, without doing checking, are your drivers definitely Vista compatible?

RE: Does anyone know about using a Virtrual OS without using a VHD
Silly question, but is there really any point in VMing a proper hard disk? :) I know you can mount partitions but like everyone else said, doing this on Windows is a bad idea. I would imagine that the VM program would actually lock the partition, whi...

RE: LG DVD-RAM problem
I have the exact same DVD Burner in my spare and I am not having this problem (yet). Try it in another computer. Also if you're using an nForce chipset and have the nForce IDE drivers installed (which you should, major performance benefit) then you ...

RE: Playstation 3 online
Connect the modem to the PC via Ethernet (unplug the USB first). If the PC can get on the Internet via the modem in this case, then it's more than likely the PS3 will be able to as well.

RE: Viruses and Virtual PC
MenthiX is correct, as far as I can tell. I would imagine though that it's not 100% perfect in extreme-data-sensitive situations - I know that at work we use VMWare to train people to use Business Objects sometimes, and our information is very secre...

RE: Viruses and Virtual PC
No. Well.. it's very unlikely. There have been some cases in the past where you can use things like buffer overflows in the VM to affect the services you install (VMWare calls them VMWare Tools, I cant mind what MS calls them) which communicate betw...

RE: Should Gordon Brown Resign
You must be crazy? Jack McConnell was not a good leader. The voting system was not complicated at all. I mean, considering one of the votes explicitly stated who you wanted to become first minister then it's hard to say people preferred someone else...

RE: Should Gordon Brown Resign
I think he's far from the best. I mean, if you compare him to his Scottish counterpart (First Minister Alex Salmond), then he's in an awful position. A large majority of Scottish people (forgot what the English think about him, it's nothing to do...

RE: Major MSN Problem
Perhaps Windows Installer 3.1? (Windows 3.1 is 16-bit (with optional 32-bit extensions) operating system from like 15 years ago which had a flaky-at-the-best-of-times networking stack, and most certainly doesn't support WLM) I do not know why the pr...

RE: Music Festivals 2008: Which ones are you going to?
So umm, does Kate Nash at the Fringe count? I'd love to be able to say I'm getting dragged along cause it's my mates birthday, but in all truth... I quite like her stuff. :D
Maiden seem to be playing everywhere. I suppose I should go and see ...

I call it cheating, but then I like to finish my own games. It's not cheating if they do it for you then you do it again copying what they done though. :)

Further to the above, echo $sql as a debugging step, make sure it's correct.

RE: Top 10 video games.
I know it's sad, but I would imagine the reason for this is "so as not to encourage people to beat the crap out of kids." Cause I mean, who has finished GTA4 without beating the crap out a few pedestrians? :)

RE: PS3 or XBOX 360 ?
Could work - depends on the network. I seem to have problems streaming really large files. A 10GB movie certainly wouldn't work - but then my router does suck.

RE: PS3 or XBOX 360 ?
The 360 already has Bioshock dude. :) FF13 is perhaps something worth it. But from that list, it's all I would buy. :P Edit: At the other sources quip, buy yourself a 16gb flash drive. The 360 will play most AVI formats.

Did you ever consider that 4th June isn't actually the start of your billing month? They could be offset, I know mines is.
