RE: Skins for WLM 9?
Don't let that be your reason for stopping. If Microsoft does remove the DUIDebug feature, Patchou will figure out how to use the UIB. It's surprisingly simple.

RE: New beta question
I never said it was hard. I don't manually install because I don't really care what service pack my machine is running as long as the security holes are patched. Since the security patches keep coming, I see no reason to waste the time required t...

RE: [?] WLM 9.0 Beta Not Signing In - Protocol Log Enclosed
It's also possible that the contact management process is being blocked from using the internet and so messenger wouldn't be able to get the information required to send the ADL command. If you have a firewall, make sure that msnmsgr.exe and wlcomm...

RE: [?] WLM 9.0 Beta Not Signing In - Protocol Log Enclosed
Your client does not appear to be sending the ADL command. The ADL command is what tells the server which contacts you want to be able to talk to. It might be a good idea to disable any third party addons as they might be fouling something up.

Create Windows Live Messenger 9 Skins.
For those who don't care for reasoning, I'll get straight to the point. From there I will explain further. In order to use skins for WLM 9, you need to add a special key to the registry. Option 1: Step 1: Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_...

Before you jump to conclusions and start insulting people, The reason I have not installed Service Pack 3 is because it hasn't been offered to me via Windows Update yet. Perhaps they have some sort of issues with some setup on my system. I don'...

RE: Windows Live Messneger 9.0: New Beta
I have found a quick band-aid way around that which I plan to make public in the near future. However this method probably won't be there in the final version. A few developers and I are currently attempting to figure out exactly how the UIB works...

RE: Budget Quad Core
Of course if you want to use more than 4GB, you'll need to be using Windows x64 (XP or Vista).

Can you use the enum statement (not sure if plus uses JScript .NET)? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/y94acxy2(V S.71).aspx

RE: [help] Moving the send search buttons to 8.0/8.1 style
I haven't actually tried this, but in theory it should work. (You'll have to play with the layout of the buttons of course) Also keep in mind that the data I have is from WLM 9, so it might be a little different, but should be similar. See the foll...

RE: Is MSN/WLM login password encrypted?
Indeed. However I'd rather have the network encrypted and stored passwords not, than vice-versa.

RE: Is MSN/WLM login password encrypted?
User authentication takes place over a Secure Socket Layer(SSL) connection.

RE: List box clearing?
I'm not sure if the MsgPlus list box is implemented with the windows list box or not, but if it is, sending the LB_RESETCONTENT message should immediately empty it.

RE: [Help] Always on top window
If I understand you correctly, you want to make a window act similar to the taskbar so that it does not get obstructed by the other windows. If this is the case, you'll want to use the SHAppBarMessage API function (shell32.dll). http://msdn.microso...

RE: why is ICMP on the Internet layer
It would be rather difficult to ping someone if ICMP wasn't built on IP as the ICMP headers don't have a source and destination. If you're referring to the fact that OSI specifies that IP and ICMP are in the network layer, you should remember tha...

RE: [Concept] Aurelia. Any devs want to help build this?
Only add things which are expected to be static(unchanging) unless there is already a known feature in messenger which allows you to be dynamic. As far as the design goes, the view all history part might be possible if MsgPlus is listening for a spe...

RE: Has World War 2 been covered to much in games?
If I play a war game, I generally prefer that it be about a war that never existed. (for example a war with a bunch of alien invaders). World wars strike a little bit too close to the heart. (and the family :P)

RE: [Help] Fonts element
If you put the font face in the element{ } section, every other element that uses the style sheet that doesn't specify its own font, should inherit that font. Edit (an example would probably be good):
element { FontFace: "Times New Rom...
