RE: Video but no audio in MOV file
Perhaps you don't have the AAC LC codec installed. If you don't have this, the sound won't work.

RE: [Discussion] Skinning copyrights, cloning, and idea recycling
I was shooting more along the lines of an option to obfuscate not an ultimate protection. To set the record straight, the Microsoft RLE image format used in messenger is not a form of encryption. It is simply a new image format that has features a...

RE: [Discussion] Skinning copyrights, cloning, and idea recycling
The chance of this happening may not be very likely, but perhaps we could convince Patchou to make a more proprietary undocumented "encrypted" skin module for those who don't want people looking at the guts of the skin....

It's done in .NET, which language is more difficult to tell.

RE: [Help pls?] Explained with screenshots =)
That's not aero glass... Thats normal transparency. That's been possible via 3rd party programs since Windows 2000.

RE: [?] RcClr in a Gradient?
I meant replacement for the actual color resources or the addition of colorized gradients to the XML. I am not 100% sure about WLM 9.0, but WLM 8.5 does support colorized gradients when the previously mentioned resource format is used. It appears ...

Random UIFILE trick - dfc dtb functions
So I was in a debugging session today, and I noticed a couple functions I hadn't seen before and could find online documentation for. So I worked them out and here are the results: dfc stands for [url=http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms53 486...

RE: [?] RcClr in a Gradient?
In theory, the highest number usable is 65535 as this is the limit for the microsoft resource format. Unfortunately, it appears that the gradient function does not support embedded rcclr calls. Because of this, you can't make a colorizable gradient....

RE: WLM Test Tool
There is an element viewer here: http://memskin.fanatic.net.nz/?page_id=6 (MSNCoreFun is the name) It doesn't support drag and drop yet, and I don't recall if the uploaded version supports WLM 9.0 correctly. If I find the time and people think th...

How does a tool that allows you to select an element with a drag and drop target sound? (Similar to the Spy++ Window finder)

RE: wlm not remembering account information
(Assuming that you're using Windows XP) Try creating a new Windows XP user account and see if it can remember the profile information. This used to big issue with MSN Explorer 9 and the only way I could fix it was to create a new user profile.

RE: Windows Live Messenger 9.0 BETA
Your logic is flawed. Windows Live Butterflies (who report to a Microsoft employee named Eric) have the beta. You may have been an MSN Butterfly, you may have beta tested Windows Live Messenger, but that doesn't make you a Windows Live Butterfly. T...

For all those non-butterflies or butterflies who have had their wings removed, perhaps you should replace Eric with his job title. This is a public area after all :P

RE: The following message was not recieved script.
You could in theory modify the client so that if a contact is ignored, it will simply ignore the switch board session requests(RNG) which will eventually force a time out on your contact's end. Although this trick will stop working if you talk to th...

RE: Visual C++ 6.0 DLLs
The trouble with using __declspec(dllexport) with extern "C" is that the function must be __cdecl in order for the symbol to export without any decoration. Why is this a problem? VB requires dll import functions to be __stdcall

RE: Visual C++ 6.0 DLLs
Your function should be declared something like this
int WINAPI sum (int n1, int n2) { return n1+n2; }
Do not use any form of C++ style dll exporting ( DECLSPEC_EXPORT ) as this is for C++ only. If you want to use the function in VB,...
