RE: Little vista problem try: win-key+pause -> advanced (the tab on the bottom right) -> then the bottom options button there you can edit the boot file... don't know if you have to do it under xp or vista...

RE: External or Internal Hard Drive? and if it doesn't show up with the jumper setting on slave... try setting it to cable select... You have to know the type of ram... for example SDRAM, DDR SDRAM or EDO... I guess you have DDR... your bios is the system that starts up your computer.....
