First of all we are not Microsoft! It sounds like a bad install of Windows Live Messenger, so try uninstalling Messenger Plus! then Windows Live Messenger. I think blocking using the script engine produces the same result as the new appearing offline in 2011. It would then be possible to check if "x" is unblocked, block them.
