Messenger Plus! 3.01 by Patchou on 06-02-2004 at 09:26 PM

Hello everyone,

A minor update for Messenger Plus! has been released today. Version 3.01 fixes several problems introduced by version 3.00 and brings some small improvements along the way. The new msgplus.net web site is now in better shape too, almost every section has been updated and translated pages will be added by the end of the week.

Every user of Messenger Plus! 2 will receive an auto-update notification within the next 10 days. I got a lot of positive feedback for Messenger Plus! 3 already so there's no need to hold on. Now is the time to start broadcasting the new version to all my users, I'll monitor your reactions closely, feel free to share your opinions here, on the forum :).

Patchou

msgplus.net doesn't block anyone from anywhere, your provider is mistaken DarKnight :). As for (!VER), I'll fix it tonight :p.

Strange, if you are running windows 2000 or higher copy and paste this into your run command (Start > Run)
code:
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
the text you should see is this

quote:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost

Congrats Patchou, you need another vacation :)

That's what I thought too.

I hope they fix whatever they did, because I'm sure it's their fault (Because they fixed it once before, but messed it up again some how). I really want see the new site design. :'(

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by }{eretic on 06-03-2004 at 05:50 AM

I installed the new update (3.01) and now the /action command is acting just like the /me command...Is anyone else having this problem?

my quick texts won't display correctly:
/action (!WAT) is playing on Chris' computer!

comes out as:
Chris Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused is playing on Chris' computer!

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by BiZaRrE on 06-03-2004 at 06:15 AM

i always thought that's what the /action command was supposed to do?
i don't use that command much anyway, so, i might be wrong..:P

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by segosa on 06-03-2004 at 06:16 AM

the /me command has always been the same as /action

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by ROsCo on 06-03-2004 at 06:39 AM

bummer... the problem mentioned in these posts isn't fixed yet... i hope it's a bug and not a feature

Installed new update on two machines (both Win98SE) - no problem at all.
But when I after about an hour started MSN Messenger on those machines, Plus! did not start. I had to start Plus! manually. What gives?

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by GiantSpider on 06-03-2004 at 08:59 AM

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by Choli on 06-03-2004 at 02:11 PM

Just a note for people hosting mirrors: Patchou updated the file to fix the (!VER) bug, but the new file has the same size (3497984 bytes). Be sure you have the last one ;). Its CRC32 (WinZip) is 1b0ba03e and when you right click it and go to properties > version tab, you'll see version 3.1.0.94 (instead of the other file that was 3.0.0.94).

RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by MGN on 06-19-2004 at 12:33 PM

Great job as usual. I do have one question though; is it possible to alter all incoming and outgoing messages in a plugin?

No, you can't. Received messages can't be altered and sent messages can be parsed only if they have a tag or command of the plugin, ie: (!XTAGS_LIKE_THIS) and /xcommands_like_this
RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by Onyx on 06-19-2004 at 09:14 PM

I have been using Messenger Plus! for a while now.
And I just want to give my compliment to Patchou.

Messenger Plus! rocks (Y)

I've written a plugin which does just that, but it would be much nicer if this was not required, and would automatically be able to filter all messages. Will this functionality be available in future releases?
RE: Messenger Plus! 3.01 by Dane on 06-30-2004 at 06:43 PM

^o), that post has been sitting there forever.

I like Messenger Plus! 3.01, its a good program.  Anyone who reads this should Download It today :D!

In answer to you MGN: more than likely will not be.
