Msgplus Startup Registry Entries by Nichol on 08-22-2004 at 09:35 AM

I was just wondering if Msgplus is sopposed to have two registry startup entries. If so, then I'll leave it, but if not, I'd like to delete the one that's not needed.

Thanks for any help recieved.

It's supposed to do so (The one without /winstart is in HKLM and the other is in HKCU, which is different ;))

but if its in HKLM why does it need to be in HKCU??

The first key means system so it'll be available for all users. The second is to make it start for you (your the curreny user).

I think thats right...

no if u look at the pic the selected area is startup entires so if its in startup for HKLM (local machine) then it will startup for evrybody
so there is no need for it to be in HKCU (current user)

The first one runs Plus "normally", the second one (with the "/WinStart" parameter) makes Plus automatically run MSN Messenger (it deletes Messenger's entry so it can start first and make the hook work properly). More info in this thread.
