Little 'box' when posting in MsgPlus! Help by brian on 08-07-2005 at 01:58 AM
Obviously, 99% of the threads posted on MsgPlus! help forums; are by newbs who did NOT search the forum, so I suggest making a little box, in the top of the Post Topic page, thats is like
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+ Read me first! +
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+ Have you searched the forums for the error you had, alot of
questions are already answered on the forums.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+ Are you looking to remove the adware/sponser program?
If so, please read this thread: <blahbalhahlah>
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ETC, got ma point? <3

I like that idea also... put things like... How to color your nickname, block checkers, and other things that we get like 3 new threads a day asking the same thing.
RE: Little 'box' when posting in MsgPlus! Help by WDZ on 08-07-2005 at 03:28 AM
I'll implement it if someone else writes it for me.
(Seems like a pretty good idea; I've seen similar things on other boards)
RE: Little 'box' when posting in MsgPlus! Help by brian on 08-07-2005 at 03:30 AM
I could do that if you gave me FTP access .
Thanks for implementing it, I *hope* it will be red, try to make it like in red so they can read it, and with a biiiiig README PLZ

If you have a problem and information on how to solve it, tell us how you did it. If necessary, start a new thread. Write up what you need to do in a clear manner or how you resolved the issue (after all if you found it hard then someone else will) and if necessary post further information (i.e. the result of the problem or screenshots).
Have you installed Messenger Plus! and all of a sudden are getting advertisement popups? Click here for information about removal instructions.

I just fixed some spelling/grammar mistakes on both sets, and I didn't edit Rebelsean's first paragraph because it didn't make sense to me.
EDIT: quote: Having trouble with recieving, sending or creating Custom Sounds?
Needs to be

EDIT 2: Come to think of it, both sets are a bit long to have above the create a new thread forms.... I'd write one but I'm too lazy

My suggestion
Before Posting
- Have you searched the forums for a thread that already answers your question?
- Is your question answered in the Messenger Plus! FAQ?
- Is your question answered in one of the sticky threads at the top of the forum?
Please Remember
- Write in proper, concise English, if you want support in your native language, you can go to the Spanish, French or Dutch forums.
- Do not write in AlTeRnAtInG ChArAcTeRs or "1337 5p34k", but in proper English, this makes it easier for other members to answer your question.
- Provide as much information about your problem as you can, for example, everything you have already tried, what version of Windows, MSN Messenger and Messenger Plus! you are using (type (!VER) in a MSN conversation window)

As WDZ said in another thread, you need to close it like you started it. This includes the number.

I like saralk's version, btw. Very short and to the point. The only thing I'd like to point out is that the FAQs are not very helpful. They just talk about very general things in the software. Maybe a link to the tutorials would be better (or both).
RE: Little 'box' when posting in MsgPlus! Help by qgroessl on 08-07-2005 at 12:42 PM
I think you could use something like regexp's sig... Replace a download with something else... add a search forums button, and some other things... and instead of Messenger Plus! Links put... Read Before Posting and link that to something that talks about how you should search the forum before you post a new thread.

I vote for this one
