O.P. CD auto play
I just finished a CD with an executable file and I really want it to look professional with an auto-play…so I was hoping someone had a piece of freeware, software or hack that allows me to do this. Thanx

RE: CD auto play
Just add an autorun.inf into the root directory of your CD containing:

[autorun]
OPEN=autorun.exe
ICON=icon.ico

The OPEN property indicates the file to run when the CD is load, and the ICON property tells your Windows which icon to put to represent the CD drive in places such as Explorer...etc.

The disk already had one but it didn't work. But the file is hidden? Does that make a difference?...the icon works like a dream...is it case sensitive?

Are you sure you are trying to run a executable which exists on the cd? Caps maybey? Autorun disabled on your pc?

You could try removing the hidden attibute, but it should word hidden too.
Finish the problem
