O.P. Shocked  The best way to carry over login information from mybb.
My bud and me are building a site for Gearbox Computers. We wanted to know what the best way to carry of the current user login information from the forums to the site.

What do you mean by direct?

Can PHP scripts on the "site" access the database of the "forums"? :-/

What exactly do you want to do? Share the user info, or just make a copy of the current info?

I think some things need to be cleared up before anyone can help you. :p

The site is not anywhere close to done :P

I want to be able to show the current user on the site.(the "Welcome back, blade. You last visited: Today, 08:00 PM"). And to access the mysql database I'd need to get my host to adjust a few settings.

Well, I have no idea how mybb actually works, but if the sessions are stored in the mysql table, like IPB does, you could access the table, remake the MD5 hash, check for the user, and get information.. Else, it cannot be done

you first post kind of throw me off by talkn about login, but with the last one, you said what your wanting to do.  its been a long while sence i did any php work even long since i messed with mybb but from wut i can remember i can try and help u out.  im gonna dig thro mybb a little then talk to u on msn
