Checking site certificates

O.P. Checking site certificates
i remmember i once found a verisign (i am not sure, but possibly this one, or another one of similar nature) where u can check if a site has a valid certificate and if does conform to its "terms of use" statement.... does anybody have a link ?

Web browsers check certificate validity anyway, and they can be set to notify you of invalid certificates.

i dont remember that IE told be about an invalid site certificate, although i enable that option, but with that link i have been able to check stuff  out. i know i am talking like puzzles :S, i found a similar service on http://digitalid.verisign.com/query.htm but that one is for email, i want a similar one for websites.
