.. but how do i set it up NOT NOT NOT to use a .NET Passport ..
I'm not quite sure what you exactly want though....
You need a .NET Passport to login in MSN Messenger, there is nothing you can do about it. This passport account is totaly different then the useraccount needed to login into XP. However, both can be connected for convenience so that you don't need to enter your .NET Passport email over and over again... or in other words: your .NET Passport will be remembered by XP.
Note that only 1 .NET Passport can be associated/saved by XP.
If you don't want XP to remember/save your .NET Passport then simply don't tick the box "remember my passport" in MSN Messenger, just as Chestah said... If you did this in the past and you want to delete it (break the association) then
delete the ".NET Passport" entry in your User Network Passwords List (aka XP's Credentials List)* in XP.
To delete stuff there, don't go to the link Joa has posted as it contains incomplete information. In fact, a long time ago I made a short post which explains all the methods:
CookieRevised's reply to Deleting credentials in Windows XP
* This is also known as your password panel/list or whatever people wanna call it. In almost all cases, all the email addresses you used in MSN Messenger are listed there, but don't think this list is for MSN Messenger only, although MSN Messenger is one of the most known programs to use that
Credentials List. The list is part of XP, not MSN Messenger. Alse be very carefull not to delete the wrong stuff!
This thread is posted in the wrong forum. This thread has got nothing todo with Messenger Plus!. The correct forum would have been "MSN/Windows Messenger"
