can some one teach me how to make a simple animated avatar?

If yes then that's easy, just make a couple of frames that will move, use something like this to put them together which will make it a gif, then you upload it here if it's too large.

If you mean animated display picture, then it's impossible

it DOES make also animated gifs! Just change the output format when exporting/publishing to Animted GIF.

u can also use Photoshop's Imageready

and if ur wondering how to make good .gif avatars then look around for tutorials
