RE: online or (online)
Do you mean the difference between "Status changed: Online" and "Signed In (Online)"?

If that is what you're talking about, then the only difference is that in the first case the contact was already signed in and had a status other than online or appear offline (e.g., busy), then changed the status to online. In the second case, the contact was either offline or appeared offline and now signed in or changed the status to online.

Although if that's not what you meant, then please specify...

:)

Hi haz,
thanks a lot for your quick answer. My english is not so well, cause iīm from germany only using school english.
I donīt see a difference between online or (online) in your answer, or i donīt understand it real.
before someone logs in msn (i think his status is showing offline) his status at the contact right button I see (web/online) than he logs in to live msn and gets (online) in the event-window. After logoff the second time log in he gets the status online. Is online not the same as online?
please be so kind and explain it, so that i can understand the difference.
kindest regards jp4u

(web/online) is someone who has signed in on msn web messenger, you dont download anything and (online) is when they sign in to msn x.xx and windows messenger x.xx and mac messenger etc ;

ahh, it's Ok. I think online without brackets is just when someone changed their status to (eg.) busy > online :)
