I'm going to be doing some recording for a band and i need to be able to record 3 audio channels at once can i do this just by having 3 sound cards?
any spefic software you recomend. also any alternate suggestion would be appreciated.

if you're recording, best to get/rent a mixer. i dunno if windows can record from more than one source at a time

will that put it in 3 different aduio chanels on my computer?
if i need to i can just use 2 programs with different audio sources, can't i?

Yeah, it would be easier and better to use a mixer.. You can pick up a good cheap one for about £40 here...

No it wont.

so with a mixer i can have different chanells, because to my knoledge a mixer combines all the chanels

no, a mixer takes all the inputs from wherever, and puts them all into one signal, with teb/bass and whatnot for each input

nope, the program has to go through windows first

if i have 2 sound card can't i just say use  this sound card for this recording and use this other one to record my bassist
